| As the name implies, low voltage cable lighting uses low DC voltage. You will have to have a transformer to take the voltage to 12 volts in most cases. This means that the cables themselves are quite safe, with only minimum current running through them. As long as you are mindful of the proper care of the halogen bulbs, you should have less electrical hazards.
