There are many choices of small fixtures available for them. Some of them are the usual heads similar to track lighting heads. Some are pendants that hang down from the cables. A Light from Above
They are a kind of illumination that works best in large rooms. Large great-rooms or rooms with cathedral ceilings make good settings for lighting. The light shines down from above, suspended by barely noticeable cables.
There are two parallel cables that feed power and give support to each set of them. These two cables can be strung across a room from wall to wall, being attached near the ceiling. If you prefer, you can connect the ends to the ceiling itself.
The idea of them is to hang lights in a large open area. The lighting can brighten up interior portions of the room without having a large central fixture. Thus, you could be standing in the middle of the room and be perfectly illuminated.
At the same time, your friend could be near the side of the room and be under another portion of the lighting. He would also be revealed by the glow of the lights.
Yet, they are not obtrusive. It does not take up a lot of visual space. The small fixtures seem to hang in mid-air. The support is virtually invisible. This leaves the room looking airier and less cluttered. Large stationary fixtures take up so much room that they are always obvious. Large fixtures also make a room seem weightier.
They use small fixtures that take halogen bulbs. The halogen light shining from above people will give them a healthy glow. It does not wash out complexions; it renders colors as they truly are. This makes a good setting for photos and videos because there is no unflattering light to work against.
If you serve food in a room with lighting above, the food will look appealing and appetizing. The halogen lights will bring out the warm colors of the foods and make them look delicious. By having the lighting above the serving area, you are making your guests’ eating experience more enjoyable.
If you are going to have lights above your head anyway, it works well to have them instead of traditional fixtures. The lighting has a more modern look than many fixtures. Plus, they give off a warm and comforting glow.
